Privacy Policy
This page explains what NAATItranslation.com collects when you use this website or order a driving licence translation, why we collect it, who sees it, and the choices you have. Questions: [email protected].
What we collect
- Your order details: the language and issuing country of your licence, your name as spelt in your passport, your email address, your phone number, what the translation is for, and the delivery speed you choose.
- Photos of your licence: the front and back, which you add on the order form.
- Unfinished orders: the details you type on the order form are saved as you finish each step, even if you do not complete the order. Your licence photos are only uploaded when you press “Pay securely”.
- Your order on this device: what you type on the order form is also kept in your own browser for up to 30 days, so you can come back and finish. Your photos are not kept. “Clear cart” on the order page removes it, and it is removed when you go to payment.
- Payment: payments are handled by Stripe. We see the amount, your name and email and whether the payment went through. We never see or store your full card number.
- Emails you send us, and anything you include in them.
- How the website is used, through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. See “Cookies and analytics” below.
Why we use it
- To translate your licence and email you the certified PDF.
- To contact you about your order, for example if a photo is unclear or we need to check how a name is spelt.
- To take payment, keep records, and handle corrections and refunds.
- To see how the website is used, so we can fix pages that confuse people.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who sees it
- The NAATI-certified translator who translates your licence.
- Service providers that run parts of this website: Supabase (stores order details and licence photos, on servers in India), Stripe (payments), Resend (sends our order notification emails), Google Workspace (our email), Cloudflare (hosts this website), and Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (website statistics).
- These providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in India, the United States and Japan.
- We may also share information when the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
- Google Analytics counts visits and shows how people find and use the website. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off.
- Microsoft Clarity shows clicks, scrolling and recordings of visits, so we can see where people get stuck. It is set to hide all text on the page, and it never records what you type.
- Google Tag Manager loads these website tools. It follows the same cookie choice and sets no cookies of its own.
- We do not use advertising cookies.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask first, and nothing is stored until you choose. Everywhere else these tools are on by default, and you can switch them off with the button below.
- Your choice is kept in your browser for 12 months.
How long we keep it
We keep order details and photos for as long as we need them to deliver your translation, handle any corrections, and meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations.
Keeping it safe
Order details and licence photos are kept in a private database and file store. The public website can add to them but cannot read them. Access is limited to us and the translator handling your order.
Your choices
To see the information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it, email [email protected]. We reply within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we handle a privacy concern, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
